Tema: Problemas con reconocimiento de tarjeta RAM

Hola, les cuento que este es mi primer post asi que bueno... espero que me puedan ayudar, de antemano les doy las gracias.

les cuento que acabo de instalar una trajeta RAM kingston KVR533D2N4/512 en la segunda ranura que me quedaba para asi tener 1gb de memoria.
Por supuesto cuide de que ambas tarjetas fueran el mismo modelo. Bueno, al instalarla me meti a la paleta SISTEMA del windows XP y me doy cuenta de que aun dice que tengo 498 mb de memoria.

Probe cambiandolas de lugar entre ellas y que estuvieran correctamente encajadas y nada, aun no me la reconoce aparentemente el sistema.
Aunque siento que el pc anda mas rapido, la verdad esque no me convence ya que esta puede ser una apreciacion sujestiva y subjetiva.
