    problema x-fi extremegamer

    Desde que he ampliado la Ram de 2 a 6 gigas no me funciona corectamente la x-fi, se produce estatica y crujidos durante la reproducción de cualquier sonido.

    La placa es una gigabyte GA-M720 y utlizo W7 64bytes. He probado incluso los nuevos drivers 2.18.15 de creative desde una insalación limpia y algunos no oficiales como los Pax, pero no hay forma de que suene bien.

    Si dejo la Ram en 2 gigas suena bien.

    ¿Alguien sabe como solucionar el problema?

    En ésos casos, además de contar con la Bios y los drivers del chipset de la placa actualizados, es necesario ajustar las latencias y el voltaje de las memorias tal cual recomienda el ensamblador para ese modelo específico de Ram.
    La clave está en configurar de manera correcta esos valores.

    Citas que tu placa es una gigabyte GA-M720 pero no defines que versión o Nro de revisión. (¿1.0 o 1.1?).
    De igual forma, me parece que las placas Gigabyte disponen de una sección en la Bios para configurar de manera manual los valores de reloj, frecuencia y voltaje para procesador y memoria.
    Sino me equivoco, dicha sección se llama "Intelligent Teweaker". Verifica.

    Otra cosa, ¿esos 6 Gb Ram que dispones son de la misma marca/modelo? ¿Cuál es la marca y modelo de cada módulo de Ram?
    ¿Cuántos módulos conforman los 6Gb y de que capacidad son?

    He intendao cambiar los 4gb adicionales instalados inicalmente por 2 modluos de 512 cada uno que tenia en el otro pc y me sigue dando los mismos problemas en cuanto meto más de 2 gb.

    pego un reporter del cpu-z por lo de la ram y sus valores por si alguien me puede indicar que valores cambiar en la Bios.

    El problema es que no estás utilizando una configuración dual channel, y hay conflictos confirmados oficialmente por Creative y Nvidia entre tarjetas de sonido X-Fi y placas con Chipset Nvidia. Es el caso de tu placa, que posee Chipset Nvidia y cuando utilizas más de 2 gb de Ram, al no ser en Dual Channel, se presentan los problemas de direccionamiento.

    La solución radica en que si deseas aumentar la Ram en tu sistema, lo hagas comprando módulos del mismo modelo, configurando de forma manual las latencias y demás valores que cita explícitamente el fabricante.
    De otra manera seguirás teniendo problemas, ya que reitero que Nvidia y creative han confirmado de manera oficial éstos problemas, inclusive con configuraciones en SLI, cuando no se emplea configuración en Dual Chanel con más de 2Gb de memoria Ram.

    Si que utilizo dual chanel, cuando arranca la Bios pone ram a 800 dual chanel, los modulos son iguales 2 a 2.

    Bueno entonces no entiendo como en configuración Dual Channel 2 a 2 expandes a 6Gb utilizando módulos de igual capacidad, que es lo que recomiendan los de Nvidia debido a la chapuza de gestión de estos chipset, con el manejo de los anchos de banda en el bus entre el CPU y el controlador de memoria.

    En fin, la solución a ese problema está en utilizar configuración dual channel, empleando módulos de Ram del mismo modelo e igual capacidad y ajustando de manera manual los valores de latencias y demás que detalla en las especificaciones el fabricante de memorias.
    Más del tema no tengo que decir.

    Seguramente usa 2x2Gb y 2x1Gb y ahi esta el problema, cada "par" tendra latencias distintas y esto vuelve al chipset medio lelo.

    Como te dicen te tocara normalizar las latencias de forma manual en la bios.

    A ver, segun el reporte que pegaste del CPU-Z tus memorias estan funcionando asi:

    Es decir, estan funcionando a 5-5-5-5-18-24 a 200Mhz, que al ser DDR2 te da que estan funcioando a 400Mhz

    Segun la informacion que CPU-Z saca de tus modulos, tienes dos problemas.

    Lo primero que tienes los modulos de 1Gb en los 1 y 2 en el primer banco. Esto esta mal. En cada canal (supongo que en la placa te vienen los slots de memoria en 2 colores, alternos) tienen que ir modulos iguales. Por ejemplo si en placa los slots de memoria son blancos y azules, en los azules pon los modulos de 1 Gb y en los blancos los de 512.

    Lo segundo, tanto los modulos de 512 como los de 1024 tienen unas latencias compatibles a 400Mhz, que son estas:

    JEDEC #3 5.0-5-5-18-23 @ 400 MHz

    Si te fijas tu tienes la ultima latencia a 24, por lo que yo entraria en bios y pondria todos estos valores en manual, para forzarlos.

    No se si te servira, pero es lo que se me ocurre.
