E6600 Overclock
Hola! Pretendo overclockear un Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 después de ampliarle la RAM.
Estos son los componentes:
Sistema Operativo - Microsoft Windows XP Professional 32-Bit
Procesador - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz, Socket 775 LGA, 4mb caché
2,00 GB de RAM DDR2 800 ( 2x 1024MB DIMM )
Adaptador de pantalla - NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT, Adapter RAM 1024MB
Placa base - ASUS P5B
Le metería un par como estas:

La ventilación es la standard, pero con el ventilador de la cpu cambiado por uno mejor
al que venía de serie, silencioso y de unos 10-11 cms.

Debo actualizar la BIOS? Cómo se actualiza? Mi plan es cambiar el FPS que está a 266 hasta los 400.
Asi queda igual que la RAM y con el multiplicador de 9 me daría 3,6 GHz. Tengo dudas:
-En el "CPU-Z", en la pestaña de "CPU", dice: "Rated FSB: 1067.6 MHz". Qué es esto?
-En el "CPU-Z", en la pestaña de "Memory", en "Timings" dice: "FSBRAM: 2:3". En la BIOS este dato
tendré que cambiarlo, no?
-Supongo que poniendolo a 3,6 GHz tendré que subir el voltaje si o si. Comenzar probando por 1,368 v
o algo así, como lo ven?
Estoy muy verde con todo esto, agradeceré cualquier tipo de ayuda (y SI,
ya me estoy leyendo todas las guias). Gracias por adelantado!

Con esas temperaturas yo no jugaría con el overclock y menos a subir voltaje! Puedes chamuscar el procesador con mucha facilidad. Cuenta que ahora mismo, sin overclock, lo tienes casi a los 65ºC máximos que se recomienda tener un procesador por seguridad!
Mejora la refrigeración general, o esperate a que llegue invierno para ver si tienes más margen. Ahora con esas temperaturas, te la juegas mucho.

Pues ya me llegó el pedido y he hecho cambios en el ordenador.
Le he quitado las RAMs antiguas y he puesto dos de estas:

La temperatura ya está bien para el overclocking, ha bajado bastante.
La BIOS es la 0701, por lo que he leido por ahí, si tiene opciones para OC y además es de las últimas sin bugs.
La idea es poner el FPS en 400, y como la RAM va a 800 (400 reales) puedo ponerle ratio 1:1. Pero no estoy seguro.
